Anti-Bribery & Corruption
Legally Led Learning is an essential and highly effective way of making sure staff and business partners are aware of regulatory risk and their obligations.
The UK Bribery Act 2010 prohibits companies and individuals from making, giving or offering payments or anything of value to decision makers (or people connected to them) for the purpose of influencing those decision makers. Businesses commit an offence if they fail to prevent bribery by Associated Persons.
Individuals risk up to 10 years imprisonment if they breach the UK's bribery laws. Businesses face significant fines and potential debarment from public sector contracts.
As a result of completing this module, staff will be able to;
- Describe the importance of ethics.
- Explain the definition of a bribe and provide examples of these.
- Provide details of International Anti-Bribery laws and enforcement including the Bribery Act 2010 and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977.
- Detail their responsibilities in relation to bribery and know what to do should a concern arise.
